Building Partnerships to Protect Our Resources

Community Outreach

Our conservation efforts are only as strong as the community we serve.  Osa Conservation is a key member and sponsor of local environmental coalitions and events in the Osa Peninsula. We collaborate with schools, community groups, and government bodies to strengthen environmental awareness in our community and engage citizens in understanding and protecting our resources through environmental events, activities and celebrations.

Through activities such as sponsoring the annual Carate Sea Turtle Festival,  giving naturalist talks at local ecolodges, and providing an interpretive trail at Piro Research Station for local guides to train and use with clients,  Osa Conservation works to not only raise awareness among the public but to bring the benefits of research and conservation tourism directly into the lives and livelihoods of local people.
